Building Bridges from the Local Church to the Soul of it's Community

As Christmas approaches, we celebrate an amazing moment in human history: the Incarnation. It's that moment when God took on human flesh and entered our world to bring His Kingdom closer to us than it had been since the Garden of Eden. It's also a reminder that Christ has left us here to continue to represent His Kingdom to those around us until His final return. 2011 has been a great year of being Jesus' hands and feet in the community He has called us to. Here are a few highlights from the year.

  • Our work with The S.P.A.R.C. Center has continued to be a light of hope to those who are experiencing hard times. It's also been a testimony to our school leadership that the people of God care about the families of their students. Since opening our doors on April 24, we have had nearly 100 families visit S.P.A.R.C. We have been able to help with over 6100 food items and 1900 clothing items. Pray that God gives us more opportunities to meet the deeper spiritual needs of those we help through our work at S.P.A.R.C.
  • Since several of the students from Chi Alpha at the U of Indianapolis attend Franklin Park Church, we have been able to be an encouragement to their ministry as we serve our community. Over the summer an international student from Asia visited FPC for a class research project. Since most of the students were gone for the summer, we made sure to make him feel welcomed by inviting him to dinner after church. Over the following months he continued to attend church and get more involved with Chi Alpha. Through this combined ministry, he became a follower of Christ in October and has been steadily growing in his faith. Pray that God would continue to strengthen this young man in his faith and use him to draw friends to Christ.
  • We continue to work on developing a fund to assist low income families with their school bus transportation fee. Pray that God would continue to give us favor and wisdom as we seek to meet this need.

Financial Update

To date we have raised $55 of the $750 we need for our 501(c)3 application fee. Please consider a one-time donation toward this specific need. If 70 more people gave an extra $10 toward this project, we would have enough to cover our application fee. Any amount raised above the $750 would help us with other start-up expenses for the school transportation fund. Please note on your gift if it is designated for the 501(c)3 fee.

Please mail all tax-deductible donations to:
